Have you been going through withdrawals ever since The Vampire Diaries and its spinoff The Originals ended? You're in luck! The CW is releasing a new spinoff series [1] entitled Legacies. The new show will be following Hope Mikaelson, the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall. Hope is descended from powerful vampire, werewolf, and witch bloodlines, making her a rare "tribrid."

The storyline will be set two years after the events [2] of The Originals, with a now-17-year-old Hope attending the Salvatore School For the Young and Gifted [3]. The school is a safe haven for individuals who need to learn to control their supernatural abilities and will be run by The Vampire Diaries' very own Alaric Saltzman. Fan favourites Danielle Rose Russell and Matt Davis will continue playing their roles of Hope and Alaric, respectively, but keep reading to find out who else will be starring in the new series.

Danielle Rose Russell

Danielle Rose Russell played Hope Mikaelson in the fifth and final season of The Originals, and she will be reprising her role as the lead character in the new spinoff series.

Matt Davis

Matt Davis has already played Alaric Saltzman in both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, and he is back in the fan-favourite role in Legacies. In the new show, he will be seen running the Salvatore Boarding School For the Young and Gifted and raising his twin daughters Josie and Lizzie.

Kaylee Bryant

Kaylee Bryant has joined the show playing Alaric's daughter Josie Saltzman, who possesses the abilities of a siphoner, which is a subsection of witches.

Peyton Alex Smith

Peyton Alex Smith has joined the cast in the role of Rafael, a charismatic and newly triggered werewolf.

Aria Shahghasemi

Aria Shahghasemi has already made a few appearances as Landon on The Originals, and he is back in the same role, playing the lovable Mystic Grill worker who catches Rose's eye.
