The Lion King: The First Flawless Footage of Beyoncé's Nala Has Arrived

06/06/2019 - 10:00 AM

In case you somehow forgot, our lord and savior (Beyoncé) is voicing the adult version of Nala in Disney's upcoming reboot of The Lion King [1]. So far, all we've gotten is a brief look at Nala in the highly-anticipated film's trailer [2], but the 37-year-old's vocals were nowhere to be found (er, heard?). Fortunately that's all changed with the studio's latest footage from the remake, which sees Nala pleading with Simba (who's voiced by Donald Glover) to return to Pride Rock and overthrow the government his evil uncle, Scar, has created in his absence.

"Simba, you have to take your place as king," she says in the clip, which comes in at just 30 (glorious) seconds. "We need you. Come home." Although we've still yet to hear Glover's voice in the film, the end of the clip also includes a quick glimpse of Seth Rogen [3] and Billy Eichner's Pumbaa and Timon, who blurt out a funny quip at the end of the video.

Check it out above, and then be sure to look at all the stunning images we've gotten from The Lion King reboot [4] so far!
