Magic Mike Broadway Musical Details
Channing Tatum Confirmed Magic Mike Is Coming to Broadway, and Now I Need My Inhaler
Have you ever found yourself at a Broadway show like Hamilton or Frozen and thought to yourself, "Hmm, this is fun and all, but it could really use a bunch of ripped, shirtless men dancing around in jeans"? If so, we have some exciting news: firstly, you should probably see a therapist; and secondly, Channing Tatum is bringing Magic Mike to Broadway!
The Smallfoot actor shared the exciting announcement on social media on Thursday. "This. Is. Happening. Get ready for Magic Mike . . . THE BROADWAY MUSICAL," he wrote on Twitter and Instagram, along with a photo of the playbill (that had a few singles hanging out of it, of course). "World premiere at the @EmersonColonial Theatre in Boston this November. Tickets on sale TODAY. @magicmikebway #MagicMikeBway."

The 2012 film and its 2015 sequel, Magic Mike XXL, were partly inspired by Tatum's experiences working as a stripper in Tampa, FL, at the beginning of his career. Tatum has since opened Magic Mike Live, a steamy live experience based on the films, and now Magic Mike the Musical, which originally hit the stage in November in London.
On the Magic Mike the Musical website, it's described as "an outrageous new musical" and "sizzling stage spectacle" that acts as "a prequel to the hit movies Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL," revealing "how the world's favourite stripping sensation first found his mojo."
Oh, boy. An opening date on Broadway has yet to be set, but the first out-of-town run will be in Boston at the Emerson Colonial Theatre, as Tatum noted in his tweet, and you can purchase tickets here.
