Disney has a lot of reboots underway [1], but one we're especially looking forward to is Maleficent 2 [2]. While the 2014 film put a different spin of the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty [3], the sequel, which is set to be released on May 29, 2020, will focus on Maleficent and Aurora as they "form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the Moors and the magical creatures that reside within." Angelina Jolie [4] and Elle Fanning are reprising their roles as Maleficent and Aurora, respectively, but there are few new stars joining the cast, including Michelle Pfeiffer as a regal character [5]. During an appearance on Zoe Ball on Sunday, the My Family star revealed he is playing King John [11], the husband of Pfeiffer's character.
Judi Shekoni as Shrike
The British actress, who recently starred on the drama series Ice, will play one of Maleficent's friends [12].
Chiwetel Ejiofor
The 12 Years a Slave actor will play an undisclosed character in the sequel [13].
Jenn Murray
The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actress will appear in the sequel [14], though details about her role haven't been revealed.
Ed Skrein
Details about the Deadpool actor's role [15] haven't been released yet.
Lesley Manville as Flittle
Manville will be back as the pixie Flittle [16].
Juno Temple as Thistlewit
The actress will reprise her role as the pixie Thistlewit [17].
Imelda Staunton as Knotgrass
The Harry Potter [18] alum will return as the pixie Knotgrass [19].
Sam Riley as Diaval
Riley will be back as Diaval [20], Maleficent's trusty raven.
