On March 30, The Rolling Stones announced that the band would have to postpone their North American tour as frontman Mick Jagger seeks medical attention. The group's representative Fran Curtis released a statement, saying, "Mick Jagger has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time as he needs medical treatment. The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible." Additional details about the 75-year-old singer's health were not disclosed.

The legendary music group shared the news on Twitter, adding, "We apologise for any inconvenience this causes those who have tickets to shows but wish to reassure fans to hold onto these existing tickets, as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates, which will be announced shortly."

Jagger — who has been with The Rolling Stones since its origin in the early 1960s — also took to Twitter to speak directly with fans about the announcement. "I'm so sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets," he wrote. "I really hate letting you down like this. I'm devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone."

The 17 concerts that have been postponed span from a show in Miami (originally scheduled for April 20) to one at Burl's Creek Event Grounds in Canada (originally scheduled for June 29). The band was also set to play in Houston, New Orleans, Chicago, and Seattle. New dates for the tour will be announced as the news of Jagger's health develops.
