After What Feels Like Forever, the Trailer For Mindhunter's Second Season Has Arrived

The wait is over: after nearly two years, the second season of Netflix's Mindhunter [1] is arriving on Aug. 16 [2], and two new trailers finally offer insight into the serial killer stories to come. The forthcoming season will predominantly focus on the Atlanta Child Murders [3], during which an estimated 24 children and six adult men were kidnapped and murdered between 1979 and 1981.

Continuing the season one premise, however, agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench will also interview apprehended serial killers, including Ed Kemper and Charles Manson, to gain insight into ongoing investigations. Cameron Britton will reprise his chilling portrayal of Kemper [4], while Damon Herriman will make his Mindhunter debut as Manson. In fact, Herriman just portrayed the '60s cult leader [5] in Quentin Tarantino [6]'s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The first season ended [8] with Ford feeling the pressure to rein in his unconventional methods, while a final haunting shot revealed the BTK Killer [9] still at large. The BTK Killer will presumably reappear in the second season, as he wasn't caught until several decades later in 2005.
