Mindy Kaling Tests Emma Thompson on Her Most Iconic Movie Lines
It honestly should be a crime that it's taken this long for someone to put Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson on screen together. Thankfully, it finally happened, and within just five minutes of watching their new comedy, Late Night, you'll be more obsessed with this insanely talented and hilarious duo than ever before.
As the once-reigning queen of late night, the now-out-of-touch Katherine Newbury (Thompson) is about to lose her show and being called out for having zero female writers on staff. Which is where the naive but witty Molly Patel (Kaling) comes into the picture, as she scores her all-time dream job as a comedy writer on a late-night show.
Since Kaling wrote it, of course Late Night features some hilariously perfect lines. So in celebration of the film, we had Kaling put Thompson to the test to see just how well Thompson remembers some of her most iconic movie lines — including quotes featured in everything from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban . . .
