Nicole Kidman Speech at the 2018 SAG Awards

Nicole Kidman Calls Out Ageism in Hollywood After Winning Her First-Ever SAG Award

Nicole Kidman added yet another trophy to her collection at the 2018 SAG Awards. Just two weeks after taking home a Golden Globe, the 50-year-old actress nabbed the award for outstanding performance by a female actor for her role in HBO's Big Little Lies. Although she has been nominated 10 times in the past, it was Nicole's first time ever taking home a SAG Award! During her emotional speech, Nicole made note of that fact. "It means a lot to me," she said. "I've been working since I was 14 years old. Thank you SAG-AFTRA for giving me this."

She also took time to thank actresses like Susan Sarandon, Jessica Lange, Meryl Streep, and others who paved the way for her to have continued success in her career well after the age of 40. "Twenty years ago, we were pretty washed up by this stage in our lives. That's not the case now. We've proven that we are potent and powerful and viable!" Nicole ended her speech thanking her family and cast members, capping off her big night with one of the best speeches of the evening.
