21/05/2019 - 10:42 PM

If you were a fan of quirky teen dramas in the mid-2000s, chances are, you're pretty excited about the upcoming Hulu revival [1] of Veronica Mars. Like several other revival series, the new episodes [2] are set to feature many of the original cast members [3] alongside new characters for the new generation. It's not the first time the Mars cast has reunited: they also came back together for 2014's then-standalone movie sequel. Since the original series [4] aired back in the mid-aughts, some of the cast have led pretty low-profile lives, while others have launched impressive careers. While you're waiting for your faves to return to the small screen this Summer [5], check in with the actors you loved on the original and see what they've been up to since they left Neptune.

Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars

Kristen Bell Now

Bell's role as Veronica launched her career in a big way, and she's continued to star in some of Hollywood's most popular projects. She became a Disney princess in 2013, voicing Anna in Frozen; the animated hit's sequel will hit theatres this November. Since 2016, Bell has starred on the acclaimed NBC sitcom The Good Place, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a comedy.

Jason Dohring as Logan Echolls

Jason Dohring Now

After winning hearts on Veronica Mars, Echolls went on have recurring roles in several more cult-favourite TV series, including Ringer, The Originals, and, most recently, iZombie — all of which fall under the Warner Bros. umbrella like Mars.

Teddy Dunn as Duncan Kane

Dunn's role as Veronica's season one boyfriend Duncan would be his last acting credit. He left the industry and became a lawyer. According to his LinkedIn [6], he now practices law at a New York firm under his full name, Edward Dunn.

Percy Daggs III as Wallace Fennel

Percy Daggs III Now

Daggs's acting career has tapered off somewhat since peaking with Veronica Mars. He's had guest roles on In Plain Sight and iZombie, among others. Wallace fans can take heart, though: he's slated to return in the upcoming Mars revival!

Enrico Colantoni as Keith Mars

Enrico Colantoni Now

Colantoni's role as Veronica's dad wasn't his last major television role. He played the lead on the police drama Flashpoint for five seasons, then recurred over six years of Person of Interest as crime lord Carl Elias. He's stayed in the drama/thriller world in many of his roles; most recently, he had an arc on CBS All Access's The Good Fight.

Francis Capra as Eli "Weevil" Navarro

Francis Capra Now

Capra followed up Veronica Mars with a slew of guest spots on other popular series, ranging from Friday Night Lights to Heroes and, more recently, The Strain and iZombie.

Chris Lowell as Stosh "Piz" Piznarski

Chris Lowell Now

Lowell was one of the breakout stars of Veronica Mars's later episodes and has continued a fairly successful acting career ever since. He snagged a series regular role on the Grey's Anatomy [7] spin-off Private Practice, had a role in the hit movie The Help, and currently recurs on GLOW.

Tessa Thompson as Jackie Cook

Tessa Thompson Now

Thompson has pretty much alternated between sci-fi and historical dramas since her time on Veronica Mars, with credits ranging from Selma to Westworld. Of course, these days she's best known as Marvel superheroine Valkyrie, making her debut in Thor: Ragnarok and continuing on into the main Avengers narrative. Next up: a reunion with Thor co-star Chris Hemsworth for Men in Black: International.

Julie Gonzalo as Parker Lee

Julie Gonzalo Now

Fans of mid-2000s teen movies will definitely remember Gonzalo's mean-girl roles in Freaky Friday and A Cinderella Story. Since then, she moved on to major roles in ABC's cult-fave dramedy Eli Stone and, later, a surprise legacy character on the revival of Dallas. In recent years, she's become a regular on Hallmark Channel rom-com movies.

Tina Majorino as Cindy "Mac" Mackenzie

Tina Majorino Now

Majorino has recurred on some major TV series over the years, most notably as Dr. Heather Brooks on Grey's Anatomy [8]. Recently, she led the short-lived Legends and recurred on Scorpion.

Ryan Hansen as Dick Casablancas

Ryan Hansen Now

Hansen is one of those actors you might not know by name, but you've definitely seen in something. He's worked consistently since his Mars days, with roles on Party Down, 2 Broke Girls, Bad Teacher, and Teachers.
