Fan favourites Charlie Hunnam [1] and Rami Malek star in Papillon, a new movie hitting theatres this August. Based on the true story of Henri "Papillon" Charrière, who wrote about his experience in the books Papillon [2] and Banco [3], the film features Hunnam as Charrière. After he's framed for murder and sentenced to live in a penal colony, Charrière is determined to escape and teams up with fellow prisoner Louis Dega (Rami Malek) to hatch a plan.
The upcoming film, directed by Michael Noer, is a remake of the 1973 movie [4] with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman [5]. Check out the full trailer above, then learn more about Charlie Hunnam [6] and take a look back at his Hollywood evolution [7].
