Relive Pink's Absolutely Bananas "Glitter in the Air" Grammys Performance

31/01/2018 - 01:23 PM

At the Grammy Awards on Sunday, Pink took the stage to perform her latest hit [1], "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken" — and of course, it was awesome because she's Pink and she can perform live better than almost anyone in the business. In fact, during her introduction, host James Corden mentioned another famous Grammys performance by Pink — perhaps one of the most famous Grammys performances of all time.

In 2010, the singer performed "Glitter in the Air" and it brought the freakin' house down. She started the song on stage in a demure hooded dress, but about halfway through, she whipped off the ensemble to reveal a sparkly bodysuit and then she took to a special harness called "aerial tissue" to perform the rest of the song while suspended in the air, twirling and doing incredible feats of acrobatics.

It will go down in history as one of the greatest live music performances of all time, but it wasn't a one-time thing. This is the way Pink usually performed the song, which is amazing and kind of insane.

After the 2010 Grammys, Pink told Oprah that her whole thought was basically, "Why not?"

"I was a gymnast for eight years and I love acrobatics and I've always seen dancers do it behind the singer, but the singer's never done it, so . . . I thought, well, why can't I do it and sing?" said Pink.
