Klaroline Fans Are in Complete Denial After the Bittersweet Series Finale of The Originals

Eventually, all good things must come to an end. After five seasons, The Originals bid an emotional farewell with its series finale on Wednesday. While there was certainly plenty of heartbreak with the deaths of Klaus and Elijah, there was a bit of a silver lining for some fans. Before Klaus bites the dust, he has an epic reunion with his past love Caroline Forbes. Turns out, Caroline has heard about his intentions to sacrifice himself, and she has come to collect a debt. She wants him to show her around New Orleans like he promised many years ago in The Vampire Diaries' episode "The Originals." Yes, she saved that voicemail after all this time!
While sitting at a bar, the two finally have a heart-to-heart as Klaus asks Caroline for advice on how to say goodbye to his daughter Hope, and what ensues will melt your cold, dead heart. "Try this," she says. "One of you stands, walks to the door, doesn't turn back, even if their heart aches for just one more look, one more moment. But you'll know that the not looking just means I'll never forget you." And just like that, they share a kiss, and Caroline walks out the door and doesn't turn back.
While the moment was bittersweet, to say the least, it definitely left "Klaroline" fans DEEP in their feelings. Listen, I will always love Caroline and Stefan, but Klaus was supposed to be her "last love," dang it! See how people reacted to that kiss ahead.
