Sara Gilbert's Reaction to Roseanne Cancellation

Sara Gilbert Speaks Out Following Roseanne Cancellation: "I Do Stand Behind the Decision"

It has been quite the week for the Roseanne cast and crew after Roseanne Barr's racist comments led ABC to cancel the show, however, they are keeping their heads high in light of the news. While Sara Gilbert immediately reacted on Twitter, sharing her disappointment with Barr, she's now expanding on her comments and praising the network for this abrupt, yet appropriate, decision.

"I would like to say this has been a very difficult week, a lot of people have been hurt by this," Gilbert said on Tuesday's episode of The Talk. "I will say I'm proud of the show we made. This show has always been about diversity, love, and inclusion, and it's sad to see it end in this way."

She added, "I'm sad for the people who lost their jobs in the process. However, I do stand behind the decision that ABC made."

Fans absolutely agree with Gilbert, and have even come up with ideas for a new reboot without Barr. Here's to hoping the Conner family can go on without Roseanne because it is so much more than one woman's abhorrent comments.
