Well, it feels like the world has been dreaming about a Disney princess who defies all the tropes for ages, and now it seems like we've finally got one! Princess Shuri, smart-mouthed sister to King T'Challa of Wakanda, is a brainy, badass fan favorite in Black Panther [1] — and upon realizing that Marvel is a Disney subsidiary, fans are ready to induct Shuri into the ranks of official Disney princesses (though we all know she's the queen of one-liners! Walt Disney Studios and Marvel are separate movie-making beasts, but considering the fact that Disney owns Marvel in its entirety, we think Shuri definitely counts as a Disney princess.
