If you haven't watched the trailer [3] yet, Sierra Burgess Is a Loser is about an ambitious but unpopular high schooler who starts exchanging texts with a guy she finds herself falling for—— except that he thinks she is Veronica, the most popular girl in school.

Shannon Purser — the Stranger Things [6] fan favourite Barb and Riverdale [7]'s Ethel Muggs — will be taking on the title role of Sierra Burgess, a smart and driven high schooler who forms a connection via text message with a popular athlete who thinks she's someone else.
Noah Centineo
Best known for his role of Jesus Adams Foster from The Fosters (and soon to be known for his role in the upcoming movie To All The Boys I've Loved Before [8]), Noah Centineo will play Jamey, Sierra's love interest who believes himself to be exchanging texts with popular cheerleader Veronica.
Kristine Froseth
The model and Junior actress Kristine Froseth is sought-after cheerleader Veronica in the film, and she agrees to help Sierra catfish Jamey in exchange for help with her schoolwork.
Chrissy Metz
Chrissy Metz is taking a break from destroying us on a weekly basis in This Is Us to play Veronica's mother.
RJ Cyler
RJ Cyler from Me and Earl and The Dying Girl will play the role of Dan, Sierra's bandmate and best friend who finds his relationship with Sierra strained as she and Veronica grow increasingly closer.
Lea Thompson
Lea Thompson, who you'll definitely recognise from Back To The Future and, more recently, Switched At Birth, is taking on the role of Mrs. Burgess, Sierra's mom.
