Get Ready to Relive the Pain of Adolescent Crushing With Netflix's Sierra Burgess Is a Loser

Netflix's upcoming original movie describes itself as a "modern rom-com retelling of the Cyrano de Bergerac story," and from the trailer it's also going to smack us all right in the feels. The story focuses on Sierra (Stranger Things legend Shannon Purser), a smart high school student who unintentionally begins catfishing her crush because of a case of mistaken identity. She teams up with Veronica, the school's typical popular Mean Girl (Kristine Froseth), in hopes of winning of her crush, played by The Fosters's Noah Centineo.

Though it seems like a classic, formulaic rom-com, the trailer promises some seriously heartbreaking and moving scenes with stellar acting by Purser. There are also some very familiar faces in the show's cast, including This Is Us's Chrissy Metz, Alan Ruck, and Lea Thompson.
