These Solo: A Star Wars Story Halloween Costumes Are the Coolest in the Galaxy

22/08/2018 - 09:00 PM

Every Halloween [1], we are treated to an influx of Luke, Leia, and stormtrooper costumes. While we have no qualms with that, 2018 introduced a new Star Wars film — and new inspiration for our Star Wars-themed costumes. Solo: A Star Wars Story gave us the backstory we always wanted [2] for our favourite half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herder. But it also gave us action-packed scenes with fan favourites Lando Calrissian [3] (played by Donald Glover) and Chewbacca and new strong female leads with Val and Qi'ra (played by Thandie Newton and Emilia Clarke, respectively).

This year, we suggest you leave the lightsaber at home and go for one of the new Star Wars options from the latest movie. The best part is you don't have to jet off to a galaxy far, far away to get ahold of your favourite costume.

Han Solo

When it comes to Halloween [4] costumes, there's no one cooler than Han Solo. While you can't exactly purchase a life-size Millennium Falcon, you can still dress up as your favourite pilot scoundrel (Wookiee not included).

Qi'ra

Hailing from the planet Corellia, Qi'ra is the strong female everyone wants to be this Halloween [5] season. Dress up like this character (played by Emilia Clarke), and no one will be able to refuse you that extra pair of Twix.

Val

With her on-trend scarf, and her leather jacket, Thandie Newton's Val knows her way around a blaster rifle. We can assure you that this costume will be the hit of any Halloween [7] party.

Lando Calrissian

Is there anyone on this planet that doesn't love Lando Calrissian? Donald Glover's portrayal was one of the greats, but we've been big fans of Calrissian since The Empire Strikes Back. He's suave, confident, and one amazing card player.

Chewbacca

We all know Chewbacca is the true hero of Solo: A Star Wars Story. Dressing up as Chewie is an amazing option if you live in colder climates because that outfit has tons of built in isolation. We do suggest, however, that you don't yell "Trick or Treat" in Shyriiwook if you want to get candy.

Tobias Beckett

Woody Harrelson manages to bring the cool-guy vibes to Crimson Dawn as the professional thief Tobias Beckett. There's no heist he can't pull off, but the jury's out on his bobbing for apples skills.

L3-37

If you're looking for a more robotic interpretation for your Halloween [8] costume, look no further than L3-37. She's a gutsy pilot droid, and she'll be sure to navigate you to the best Halloween parties.
