Space Jam 2 is officially happening, and the cast is beginning to look like a championship team. In 2015, NBA superstar LeBron James first signed a deal with Warner Bros. to work on a sequel to the 1996 classic that originally starred basketball legend Michael Jordan [1]. In June, James revealed that filming has begun [2] with Black Panther [3] director Ryan Coogler on board as a producer and Terence Nance serving as the director. So far, there haven't been many casting announcements, but we do know that Don Cheadle [4] has been tapped to star alongside James. And that's a tell-tale sign that more big names are going to be attached to the movie. James will portray himself, likely as a teammate to Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes gang. Though, it's always possible that he joins the Monstars [6].

Details about Cheadle's character haven't been confirmed, but fingers crossed we'll get to see him show off some athletic skills [7] on the court!

Sonequa Martin-Green

We don't know much about Martin-Green's character yet, but Variety reports that she might play James's wife [8].
