Every year, we have to say goodbye to some of our favourite shows — sometimes without warning. Thankfully, in this golden age of television, the networks and streaming sites have gotten better about letting fans know when their shows are ending. Still, 2019 is going to be a hard year for anyone who loves Game of Thrones [1], Broad City [2], and a bevy of other critical darlings. In fact, quite a few major series are signing off for good in the coming year, but hopefully this list will help you prepare to say goodbye to all of the shows ending in 2019 [3].
Veep
Selina Meyer's political journey is set to come to an end sometime this Spring when season seven premieres on HBO [4].
Game of Thrones
Winter has finally come to Westeros, and Game of Thrones fans will have to say goodbye when season eight premieres in 2019. No premiere date has been announced just yet, but the final season will consist of just six episodes [5].
Jane the Virgin
Back in May, The CW renewed Jane the Virgin [6] for a fifth and final season [7].
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Rebecca Bunch is singing her way through the show's fourth and final season [8] right now. You can expect the series to sign off in the Spring.
The Big Bang Theory
After 12 seasons, Leonard, Penny, Sheldon, and the rest of the gang are moving on. CBS announced that The Big Bang Theory [9] will end with the season 12 finale [10], which is set to air sometime in May.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
The second half of season four will be the end of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt [11] — or at least it might. Netflix is reportedly still considering a wrap-up movie [12] for the indomitable heroine.
Homeland
In August, Showtime confirmed that Homeland [13] season eight will be Carrie's big finale [14].
A Series of Unfortunate Events
Neil Patrick Harris [15] is hanging up his impressive wig collection, because A Series of Unfortunate Events [16]'s third season is also its last.
Gotham
The final season of Gotham [17] kicks off in January on Fox.
Transparent
After the scandal surrounding Jeffrey Tambor [18], the actor won't be returning for the show's final season [19]. Deadline reports, season five will end on a high note, though, thanks to the musical finale [20].
Broad City
Sorry, Queens, but Broad City is calling it quits. Season five begins on Jan. 24 [21].
iZombie
The CW is also saying goodbye to iZombie [22]. The last season will air this Spring.
The Affair
The Affair [23] is officially ending with season five. Sadly, castmembers Joshua Jackson and Ruth Wilson [24] have already left the show.
Shadowhunters
Freeform is wrapping up the fantasy series with a two-hour movie set to air in the Spring [25].
You're the Worst
Initially, the final season of You're the Worst [26] was expected in 2018, but FXX has announced season five will now air in 2019 instead.
Poldark
Ross and his luscious locks are saying a fond farewell to fans with season five.
Orange Is the New Black
Netflix's classic series Orange Is the New Black [27] will officially end with the show's seventh season, according to the streamer.
Mr. Robot
USA has cancelled Mr. Robot [28]. The network announced season four will be the drama's final outing.
Killjoys
Way back in 2017, Syfy renewed Killjoys [29] for two more seasons, making its upcoming fifth season the end of the line for this sci-fi drama.

HBO announced the stylish '70s drama will end with season three.
