Taron Egerton Says Elton John "Absolutely Broke Down" Watching Rocketman For the First Time

With Rocketman now in cinemas, the movie's star Taron Egerton has been sharing some secrets not only from behind the scenes of the movie itself, but also from the star-studded Cannes premiere. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Egerton discussed what it was like for him and the film's director, Dexter Fletcher, to watch the reactions from the real life inspirations behind the movie, as they watched it for the first time alongside the cast. Taron sweetly explains how Elton John and his writing partner Bernie Taupin reacted to the movie, from grabbing each other's knees, to Elton "blubbing" at the end of the film. Clearly a huge fan of the movie, Elton's also taken to emailing Egerton daily updates with reviews . . . even though the actor's been trying to avoid them. Egerton also describes what it's like to visit Elton's home (spoiler: there are a lot of cats) and reveals the sweet words of encouragement the singer gave him on the day of the premiere.
