Just seven minutes into #TucaAndBertie and I was hooked on its humor and the friendship of the main characters. Here's hoping that the end of the show isn't the end of them.— Andrew M. Haas (@AMHaas95) July 25, 2019 2 / 19 Good morning, just thinking about how @tucaandbertie made me, a 30-year-old woman with clinical anxiety, feel seen and understood and held like no show ever has!!!#SaveTucaAndBertie pic.twitter.com/7TpqUQzr0v— tyler feder (@roaringsoftly) July 25, 2019 3 / 19 I dearly love Tuca & Bertie and felt many moments of joy and surprise while watching it. felt seen, understood, and like I was having a really fun/sometimes difficult conversation with a BFF. I hope all who worked on it know how special it is. I hope it has a life somewhere else.— Stephanie Beatriz (@iamstephbeatz) July 25, 2019 4 / 19 cancelling tuca & bertie feels like an enormous step backwards in every direction. the show is so funny and so tender and so necessary.— jonny sun (@jonnysun) July 24, 2019 5 / 19 Extremely sad and disappointed to hear that Netflix is canceling Tuca & Bertie after one (1) season. It’s so funny and smart and bruising when it counts on stuff that others wouldn’t dare touch, this one hurts 💚 pic.twitter.com/dvfnJVnTg0— Caroline Darya Framke (@carolineframke) July 24, 2019 6 / 19 Thisthisthis. Tuca & Bertie was funny but it touched on some stuff I have NEVER seen on tv, much less animation, with honesty and kindness. It was that, AND it was weird, horny, messy, in a way women rarely get to be on tv, much less animation!!! https://t.co/5CZA75OPE3— Kate Leth (@kateleth) July 24, 2019 7 / 19 @tucaandbertie was one of the best shows I've seen in years. I hope another network/streaming site picks it up (cough... @hulu...cough... @PrimeVideo). It offered something fresh and funny while tackling important subjects like harassment, anxiety, and abuse. pic.twitter.com/eTbZG9bSDb— Jonathan (@jmillhouse) July 24, 2019 8 / 19 I’m really upset about Tuca & Bertie being cancelled. That series felt very special and starred two extremely talented women of color and came from an authentic female perspective that you rarely see in adult animation. Major major loss.— Matthew A. Cherry 🏁 (@MatthewACherry) July 25, 2019 9 / 19 #TucaAndBertie is like Bojack, except it's the existentialism of being a 30-yo woman instead of the existentialism of being a mediocre middle-aged man in Hollywood. The latter is a tired trope (albeit done well), and the former was so surprising and special and needed.— #BOSSWITCH is taking subs for Mañana Anthology! (@JoametteGil) July 25, 2019 10 / 19 I'm so heartbroken Tuca and Bertie isn't getting a second season. It's rare seeing a show that's so funny and unique and personal. If you haven't seen it yet, PLEASE DO it's so so good! #renewtucaAndBertie pic.twitter.com/mV3GqIbzXC— Kristen Gish (@KGishFish) July 25, 2019 11 / 19 I'm not typically a fanatic for reversal of decisions like this. But in cancelling Tuca and Bertie, viewers lose:-a fully PoC principal cast-a female creator in adult animation-an exploration of female trauma as told and portrayed by womenThis is a bigger loss than it seems. https://t.co/fHsl3WsG72— Amma Marfo (@ammamarfo) July 25, 2019 12 / 19 I'm a fat woman of color. In real life I AM the joke, in so much media everything about me is made a punchline. @tucaandbertie let me be the audience for ONCE IN MY DAMN LIFE. Thanks for that 💖— shivana sookdeo (@toastasaurus) July 24, 2019 13 / 19 RENEW👏🏼TUCA👏🏼AND👏🏼BERTIE👏🏼 I have rarely EVER seen a show that has SO realistically represented my experience as a woman and it is SO important for so many people#renewTucaandBertie #TucaAndBertie— Monica M. Magana (@MonicaM_art) July 24, 2019 14 / 19 Netflix's decision to cancel #TucaAndBertie was a MASSIVE mistake. It has the Bojack legacy behind it, helped to get some female-oriented adult animation in the spotlight and is simply just a very well written and charming show. This choice is gonna truly blow in their face. pic.twitter.com/4881ih3DA8— Kyle Snape (@kylemsnape) July 24, 2019 15 / 19 Tuca and Bertie is one of my favorite series. Not only did it show women who were crass and gross and funny, it was a series about loss, family, and recovery. No series explores sobriety like this. #RenewTucaandBertie #savetucaandbertie— Sage Coffey 🍷👻 (@SageCoffey) July 24, 2019 16 / 19 Netflix cancelling Tuca and Bertie is so disappointing. It's one of the very few shows I've seen that showcases women who are unapologetically funny, crass, and just... human. And they're freaking bird people! #saveTucaandBertie https://t.co/uT0N5k76uG— Audrey Gonzalez (@AudreyGonzalez) July 24, 2019 17 / 19 #TucaAndBertie was such a good show. I'm really really hoping that another network picks it up because it's one of the few shows I can relate to any of the characters experiences without having to fully translate them to my own.— Goo-Berry (@Dionbry) July 25, 2019 18 / 19 Y’all need to watch Tuca and Bertie on Netflix. It just got cancelled but handled so many issues young adult women face today in society. From patriarchy to panic attacks, it tackled it all and I would love to see it get some love.#RenewTucaandBertie #SaveTucaAndBertie— 🌙Kaila🌙 (@kmduffy22) July 25, 2019 19 / 19 NetflixTuca & BertieTwitter ReactionsSummer EntertainmentTV
