Tyler Butler-Figueroa on America's Got Talent Quarterfinal

AGT: This Young Cancer Survivor Deserves All of Simon Cowell's Praise After His Violin Cover

Tyler Butler-Figueroa accomplished a difficult feat during his America's Got Talent quarterfinal performance on Tuesday night: he wowed Simon Cowell again. The 11-year-old cancer survivor from North Carolina first earned Cowell's praise and coveted golden buzzer during his audition. A few episodes later, he proved he's still got what it takes to make the judges proud as he performed an energetic violin cover of Swedish House Mafia's "Don't You Worry Child."

"Forget my golden buzzer, it's America's golden buzzer," Cowell told an emotional Butler-Figueroa. "Amazing, inspirational, current. Such a great person, such a great talent, such a great moment, such a great choice of song." Cowell's praise was especially notable, given that he was providing especially harsh criticism to a few other crowd-favourite contestants throughout the night.

Watch Butler-Figueroa's powerful performance above to see exactly how he brought the house down. Fingers crossed we'll get to see more of him in the finals!
