Popsugar Entertainment Fall Tv What Happened to Dr. Jared Kalu on The Good Doctor? If You Were Sad About Jared Leaving The Good Doctor, We Have Some Good News 20 September 2018 by Kelsie Gibson Image Source: ABC The Good Doctor's season one finale left things on a bit of a cliffhanger, but one of the biggest surprises was that Dr. Jared Kalu (played by Chuku Modu) would be leaving St. Bonaventure Hospital. After a rocky first year as a resident, Jared receives an acceptance letter from Denver Memorial Hospital at the end of season one. While Deadline reported that actor Modu would not be returning for season two, it appears that his character's story isn't over just yet. Not only was Modu spotted with the cast in set pictures earlier this Summer, but he is also featured in the season two premiere pictures. Last season, Jared had quite the storyline. After Claire is sexually harassed by a doctor, Jared takes matters into his own hands by assaulting the doctor in the locker room. Though the act ends up getting him fired, he winds up getting his job back after blackmailing the hospital. In addition to his unwelcome reinstatement, Jared ends up breaking up with Claire when he realises she doesn't love him the way he loves her. While it certainly makes sense for Jared to want a fresh start at a new hospital, we're happy that he'll appear in at least one episode this season to offer closure. Be sure to tune into The Good Doctor on Sept. 24 to see how his story unfolds. In the meantime, you can catch a glimpse of him in the season two premiere in the photos ahead.
