Here’s What We Know About Bachelor Colton’s Mom and Dad, aka His Twin

As the final episodes of The Bachelor near, we get to meet not only the contestants' families, but Colton Underwood's as well. Since he made it to hometown dates in the last season of The Bachelorette, we already got to meet Scott and Donna Underwood. Now that Colton is the main focus, there has been more camera time with his family. Suddenly, we understand why he's such a kindhearted person. His parents are very supportive, and there is plenty to learn about them.

Understandably, Colton's parents weren't exactly gung-ho about their son going on yet another Bachelor franchise. "They were a little sceptical, but I think they saw how good it was for me coming off of [Paradise], sort of how I reacted and how I felt," Colton told Us Weekly. "So they're so excited right now, and I know my dad and my mom are looking forward to having a new daughter-in-law."

Colton's parents are divorced, but from what we see of them on television, they seem to get along quite well. "They are so happy and in love, in a new part of their life," he told Us Weekly. "They're both remarried. So it's so cool to see how they've dealt with that adversity and how they moved on, but they still remain friends."

During Colton's hometown date on The Bachelorette, he described the dynamic with his parents. "My mom and I have a great relationship. I can tell my mom anything," he said. When it comes to his dad, Colton described it as a "coach-player-type relationship."

Football seems to run in the family. Scott played football at Illinois State University, according to Vidette, the college's newspaper. Donna was on the volleyball team. Like his father, Colton played defencive end for the school. Scott coached both Colton and his younger brother, Connor, throughout their junior to high school football careers.

It looks like Colton will carry on the coaching tradition with his kids. "I'm definitely ready for kids," he told Us Weekly. "I feel like I was born to be a dad. I come from a large family. I'm an older brother — now to a bunch of bonus siblings — and I love that role. I can't wait to have kids, and sort of be that cool father who is a coach, a mentor, and just overall their best friend."

If Colton and his (hopefully) soon-to-be wife are as wonderful as his parents, they'll make an unbeatable duo.
