Who Does Jessica Williams Play in Fantastic Beasts 2?

J.K. Rowling Reveals a Few Big Details About Jessica Williams's Fantastic Beasts 2 Character

With each passing day, we've been blessed with more details about the magical sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find ThemFantastic Beasts: the Crimes of Grindelwald. So far we've gotten a few precious tidbits about where the story is headed, as well as plenty of photos of the cast, which includes some exciting new characters. Although it was announced that The Daily Show alum Jessica Williams would be playing one of the new characters, details about her role have been scarce . . . until now!

On Sunday, J.K. Rowling was joined by Williams at one of the performances of NYC's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway, so she celebrated the occasion with a photo of the two of them captioned by some illuminating information: "Professor Eulalie (Lally) Hicks of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with some random woman during the interval of #CursedChildNYC," she wrote.

In case you're unaware, Ilvermorny is the North American school of magic (think: Hogwarts, without the British accents). The school is seated at the top of a mountain, and concealed from muggles/no-maj by a thick layer of mist. Apparently Professor Eulalie "Lally" Hicks is one of the lucky members of its staff.

At this point we don't know what Lally's magical speciality is, but we do know that it's probably going to be quite a while before we get more information about her. Rowling later tweeted that we'll only see a "hint" of Lally in The Crimes of Grindelwald, but that she'll be a much bigger presence in the untitled third film.
