If you were one of the 18 million people who tuned in to the Roseanne reboot, you had to have noticed adorable 8-year-old actress, Jayden Rey. On the show, Rey plays Mary Conner, D.J. Conner's biracial daughter. She's also the youngest out of Roseanne's three grandchildren. Judging from their onscreen moments, Mary and Roseanne appear to have a close-knit bond. The 66-year-old matriarch may still be tough as nails, but it's safe to assume she has a soft spot for Mary.

As if that weren't enough to make us watch week after week, the full details about Mary's backstory will make your heart smile. As fans of the original series, we were excited to discover that Mary's mom is Geena, the same black girl that D.J. (Michael Fishman) was reluctant to kiss in the 1997 episode, "White Men Can't Kiss." At the moment Geena is serving overseas in the army. She will be played by Xosha Roquemore (The Mindy Project) when she makes her first appearance in an upcoming episode.

As for Mary, she appears to get along quite well with her cousins: Darlene's children, Mark (Ames McNamara) and Harris (Emma Kenney). She also seems to have a close relationship with her dad. We can't wait to see how the show explores the dynamic between the grown-up versions of D.J. and Geena in the near future. It's good to have the Conners back, am I right?
