So far, the character hasn't really had much of a story arc other than being Kate's best friend, but during "The Waiting Room" episode, Madison shared a sweet moment with Miguel about struggling to find a place within the Pearson family. A Reddit user also pointed out that Kevin's rocky interaction with Madison at the hospital could be a way of the show setting up a way for him to apologise and eventually get to know Madison better.

It could also be possible that the mystery mom is someone we don't already know. Kevin could actually be a single dad, for that matter. Notice how Randall doesn't ask Kevin's son where his mother is? In the flash-forward, Kevin's son looks about 10 to 13 years old. Assuming the flash-forward is about 15 years in the future, that means Kevin has a kid about five years after his breakup with Zoe. While he could meet and fall in love with someone new in that amount of time, it's also likely that Kevin took matters into his own hands and hired a surrogate.
