I Am the Night [1] might have been primarily marketed as a collaboration between Wonder Woman [2]'s Chris Pine [3] and Patty Jenkins, but TNT's LA noir also features a strong performance from India Eisley. She plays Fauna Hodel in the gritty series, a young woman who discovers she was given away at birth who begins investigating her past, eventually crossing paths with Pine's Jay Singletary, a former Marine and current down-on-his-luck reporter/paparazzo.
Despite this high-profile role, it's far from Eisley's first time on screen. If you're a fan of creepy horror flicks or used to love a certain teen-oriented series on what once was ABC Family, then there's a chance you've seen the 25-year-old actress's work before.
Underworld Awakening (2012)
Underworld Awakening was Eisley's first big role. She plays Eve, the daughter of Kate Beckinsale [5]'s Selene, in the fantasy-horror film that focuses on the ongoing war between the vampires and lycans.
Secret Life of the American Teenager (2008-2013)
Eisley played Ashley Juergens, the sarcastic, cynical little sister of Shailene Woodley's Amy Juergens, on all five seasons of ABC Family's teen drama.
Kite (2014)
After she wrapped up her role on Secret Life, Eisley nabbed the lead role in 2014's Kite alongside Samuel L. Jackson [6]. Donning a hot pink wig and toting a giant gun, she plays a young woman who seeks revenge after her cop father is murdered.
The Curse of Sleeping Beauty (2016)
Don't get it twisted — this incarnation of the story of Sleeping Beauty is not for the faint of heart. Eisley plays Briar Rose in the film, who appears to be trapped in an eternal slumber on the mysterious property of a home that Thomas (Star Trek: Discovery's Ethan Peck) inherits from his uncle. Of course, Thomas's attempts to wake her don't go as planned.
Clinical (2017)
This 2017 Netflix horror movie stars Vinessa Shaw as a psychiatrist attempting to put her life back together after a violent attack from one of her patients, Nora (Eisley), leaves her scarred both physically and mentally. But when a new patient she's seeing comes with his own terrifying history, her life takes a dangerous turn for the worse.
Look Away (2018)
Eisley pulls double duty in this 2018 psychological horror film, playing the characters of both Maria and Airam. The former is an alienated high school student whose sense of reality begins to slip when her evil mirror image, Airam (Maria spelled backwards, naturally), starts to take over her life.
I Am the Night (2019)
TNT's miniseries is based on the real-life story of Fauna Hodel (Eisley), whose journey to the truth of her upbringing comes with a number of shocking realisations, especially her connection to infamous Hollywood gynecologist Dr. George Hodel and the 1947 Black Dahlia murder [7]. With the help of Jay Singletary (Pine), Fauna begins to unravel the convoluted web of lies that surrounds her.
