The upcoming release of the new DC Comics superhero action movie Aquaman is already causing a ton of buzz. Focussed on Aquaman, one of the most famous superheroes of the sea, the film has a roster of amazing actors, including Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Patrick Wilson, and Nicole Kidman.

Heard, who plays Mera, queen of the sea and spouse to Aquaman, may look a bit familiar since she's been in a bunch of other movies. From The Danish Girl to Pineapple Express, we rounded up nine of her past roles to give you a refresher before you watch that trailer again.

1. Friday Night Lights (2004)

Heard's debut film role was in Friday Night Lights, the 2004 film based on a book by H.G. Bissinger, which tells the story of a poor town and their high school football team, the Permian High Panthers. In this movie she has a small role as Maria.

2. Hidden Palms (2007)

Amber Heard played Greta Matthews in the short-lived CW television series that was on during the Summer of 2007. The show focussed on a group of fictional teens, their families, and their drama while living in Palm Springs, CA.

3. Pineapple Express (2008)

Ten years ago this August Pineappple Express, a stoner action-comedy film, hit theatres. Heard was cast alongside Seth Rogen and James Franco as Angie Anderson, the high school girlfriend of Rogen's character.

Focusing on the famous DC Comics superheroes, Justice League is an exciting film about the many different heroes joining forces to work together to defend planet Earth. Mera is also the spouse of Aquaman, played by Jason Momoa.
