Roll call! The division of block in Litchfield adds a new twist for the sixth season [1] of Orange is the New Black [2]. After the ladies are released into gen pop in the maximum security area, they're divided into three different "blocks" of prison cells. If you're confused and trying to keep up with which inmate ends up in which block (and which are transferred out [3]), don't worry — we're breaking it all down for you.
B Block (aka "Florida")
Florida is like fantasy island for the ladies of Litchfield. Stocked with Jell-O and extra pudding in a drama-free environment, the B Block is where everyone hopes to end up. Only a select few make it in, however! Sophia, a trans woman, and Suzanne (aka Crazy Eyes), who has a history of mental illness, were shoo-ins for the special case area. Frieda, on the other hand, uses her power of manipulation and betrayal to get in. Frieda makes a deal with MCC, pinning the season five riots on her old pal Red in order to get a cell in Florida. Last to join is Doggett (aka Pennsatucky), who cleverly blackmails her way in after her voluntary return to prison.
C Block
C Block, also recognised as Carol Denning's turf, is stocked with drug pushers to keep Carol's oxy operation alive and well. With the help of her wingman, Madison (aka Badison), Carol recruits Red and Alex to join their crew. Alongside them is Piper (Badison's new arch enemy), Gloria Mendoza, and Blanca Flores. Piper and Blanca soon escape the madness of the C Block, receiving an early release by the end of season six [4].
D Block
Run by Carol's archenemy/sister, Barb, the D Block has its own crew running the floor. Loyal OG and Barb's right-hand Daddy [5] helps keep their drug business running. Daddy recruits D Block's new girls (Daya, Nicky, and Lorna) to join their gang. Fellow D Block bunkies, Black Cindy and Flaca, upgrade their residence by starting a daily prison radio show. Also joining the ladies are Taystee, who's off handling her legal battle against MCC, and Ruiz, who tries her best to stay out of any drama between the two blocks.
