Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan's New Film Has "Oscar" Written All Over It

This week, we got our first in-depth look at what is sure to be an award season contender: Wildlife. The movie stars Carey Mulligan and Jake Gyllenhaal as Jeanette and Jerry, a housewife and a golf pro, respectively. The story basically involves the disintegration of their marriage 1960s Montana, a nearby wildfire, and the perspective of their young teenage son, Joe. Even from the trailer alone, you can tell the film is packed with powerful performances, stunning visuals, and exceptional directing from first-timer Paul Dano. And the release isn't far off! Wildlife hits theatres on Oct. 19.
