These days, we have to take joy wherever we can get it. (Netflix is starting to introduce commercials [4], after all.) Fortunately, the cast of the Wonder Woman sequel [5], Wonder Woman 1984 [6], took it upon themselves to provide us all with some such joy when they recently took a break from filming '80s-era action scenes [7] to re-create the classic movie poster for The Breakfast Club. Chris Pine doesn't appear to be wearing a jumpsuit [8], but it's still pretty incredible.

Chris Sylvia, an employee of Regal Cinemas, posted the truly wonderful photo of stars Pine, Gal Gadot, director Patty Jenkins (who's posed as Judd Nelson, iconic), villain Kristin Wiig [9], and a nearly unrecognisable Pedro Pascal [10]. Reddit user u/HenroTee [11] even took it a step further by working some Photoshop magic and turning the image into a legit re-creation of the OG poster, which we have to imagine even Molly Ringwald would be impressed with (even if, technically, the John Hughes comedy didn't come out until 1985).

Details about the plot of the upcoming superhero film, due out in November 2019, have been mostly kept under wraps, but it's known that the sequel will see Diana facing off against the Soviet Union during "the closing days of the Cold War" in the 1980s, and also make her way to America. Jenkins told Variety in 2017 that it will bring Wonder Woman to a deeper, perhaps slightly darker place, and include another great "love story." Sadly there's still no word on whether or not it will end with Diana walking across a football field with her fist held triumphantly above her head.
