Another day, another streaming service — this time, from Apple. Back in March, the tech giant announced its upcoming streaming TV service, called Apple TV+, and the great news is it's launching in 100 countries on the same day in November. Yep, even in the UK. Many of the details surrounding the platform (true to Apple's usual MO) are currently being kept under wraps, but here's what we know so far.

One of the big selling points for Apple TV+ (versus many of the existing streaming services) is the price, which is a little bit lower. In the UK, Apple TV+ will cost £4.99, and in the US, it will be $4.99. If you're an Apple customer, it'll be even cheaper. For anyone who purchases a brand-new iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, you'll get a whole year of Apple TV+ for free; you'll have three months from the date of purchase (or three months from Nov. 1 if you purchase your device before then) to activate the offer.

When compared to many of the other platforms, the price is slightly lower, with Netflix being the closest; its basic subscription starts from £5.99. Comparatively, Amazon Prime costs £7.99 (although this does also include shipping benefits), NOW TV's current entertainment pass costs £7.99, and Disney+ will cost $6.99 (£5.55) in the US, although there is no word yet on how much it will cost in the UK when it launches in 2020.

For once, the UK won't be forced to wait, with Apple TV+ launching on the same day (Nov. 1) in 100 countries. Not only that, but a few of Apple's headlining TV shows and movies will also be launching on the same day. Specifically, aptly named drama The Morning Show (starring Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, and Reese Witherspoon) and the futuristic See, starring Jason Momoa. As for Oprah Winfrey's two docuseries — one of which she collaborated on with Prince Harry to create — neither has a set premiere date just yet.

Unlike other streaming services currently on the market, it isn't yet known whether Apple TV+ will have an extensive back catalogue of TV series and movies, but from what we can see so far, its suite of Apple Original productions will be more than enough to entice us onto the platform.
