Julie LaPlaca, a producer for The Bachelor [3], is shutting down dating rumours about her and Peter Weber. On March 13, Julie set the record straight with a picture of the two celebrating New Year's Eve at Times Square in New York City. "Yes that was @pilot_pete in the tan jacket, no we didn't kiss at midnight," she wrote. "But, whoever ends up as his copilot for life is one lucky lady, because this guy has a heart of gold ❤️✈️."
Fans began speculating about Julie and Peter's potential romance over the holidays, when they were photographed ringing in the new year. A handful of hawk-eyed followers noticed the back of Peter's head in a solo shot of Julie [4] posted on Jan. 2. That same day, Peter's father shared a snap of Julie and the Weber family [5] at a restaurant. "New Years Eve lunch with the gang at Carmine's," he wrote.
The following month, Robert Mills — ABC's senior vice president of alternative series, specials, and late-night programming — addressed all the hearsay while speaking to Entertainment Tonight [6]. "Well, I hate to get in the way of a good rumour, so I'm not going to confirm or deny about whether he ends up with a producer," he told the outlet. "I don't know how we'd ever top that, though! But it is crazy."
Julie's recent post about the rumours came shortly after Peter confirmed he and Madison Prewett had split [7]. Although they agreed to make their relationship work during the "After the Final Rose" special [8], Peter wrote on Instagram that their breakup [9] "is what makes most sense for the two of us."
