Just about all of the award shows for 2021 have been pushed back [1] to accommodate for the COVID-19 pandemic that has put a damper on the entertainment industry as a whole. Along with moving the ceremonies, the various organisations behind each award show have adjusted the eligibility requirements [2] to accommodate for delayed movie and TV premiere dates and modified schedules. Ahead, find the most up-to-date information on when each award show will be held, as well as what channel you can watch it on. So far, all of the shows are set to happen live in person as planned, but only time will tell if more changes are needed.
Grammy Awards: Jan. 31
As of early June, the Grammys were still slated to go on as planned on Jan. 31, 2021. It is tentatively scheduled to happen in LA and be broadcast on CBS.
Golden Globe Awards: Feb. 28
The Golden Globes have been pushed to Feb. 28, 2021 and are scheduled to be hosted by Tina Fey [4] and Amy Poehler [5] live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. It will air on NBC.
Critics' Choice Awards: March 7
The Critics' Choice Awards were pushed back to March 7, 2021, but are still scheduled to happen live from Santa Monica, CA. The show will be hosted by Taye Diggs [6] and air on The CW.
Screen Actors Guild Awards: March 14
The Screen Actors Guild Awards have been moved back to March 14, 2021 and are still scheduled to happen live as planned. The show is slated to air on TNT.
Directors Guild of America Awards: April 10
The Directors Guild of America Awards have been moved to April 10, 2021. The show is still scheduled to happen live in LA as planned.
BAFTA Awards: April 11
The BAFTAs have been moved to April 11, 2021, and the event is scheduled to happen live as usual.
Film Independent Spirit Awards: April 24
The Indie Spirit Awards have been moved back to April 24, 2021, but are scheduled to happen live as planned.
Academy Awards: April 25
The Academy Awards, which usually happen in February, have been moved out to April 25, 2021. As of now, the show is scheduled to be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in LA on ABC.
Satellite Awards: TBD
The Satellite Awards date for 2021 has not yet been announced.
Producers Guild of America Awards: TBD
The Producers Guild of America adjusted the eligibility requirements for the upcoming award show to align with COVID-19 restrictions placed on the industry, but the date for the show has not yet been announced.
Writers Guild of America Awards: TBD
The Writers Guild of America has not yet announced the date for the 2021 show.
