Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar Is the Comedy You've Been Waiting For Since Bridesmaids

Have you ever watched a trailer and needed the movie to drop immediately? Well, that's me with Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar. I'm not sure what it is about watching two Midwestern gals leaving their small town for a "glamorous" beachside holiday, but I am HOOKED. If the ridiculous antics Star (short for Starbara) and Barb get up to in the trailer aren't enough — including but not limited to making and eating hot dog soup, touching feet in the pool, and playing with the lights in their hotel room — there's Jamie Dornan seemingly hating his life and attempting to rip off his shirt.

Everything about the film is tailor-made for folks who use outdated slang unironically and love a good vintage sweatshirt. So basically, this film was made for me. Staring Kristen Wiig, Annie Mumolo, Damon Wayans Jr., and Dornan, the film was written by both Wiig and Mumolo, which is why it's giving off Bridesmaids vibes since the pair cowrote that as well. Have I already added a sun hat to my cart in preparation for the film's premiere? You betcha, and I will be enjoying a bowl of hot dog soup in honour of my girls when it's available to stream on VOD on Feb. 12
