All of Mae Muller's Lyrics are a Total Mood, Check Out Her Best Ones Here

Mae Muller is without a doubt one of the most interesting artists I discovered last year. She's like a new-age Lily Allen [1] — but somehow even cooler — with seemingly the same life experience, and I think I'd like to be her friend much more (no disrespect, Lily). Her lyrics are possibly what make her the most interesting, because they're equal parts risky and hilarious. She's one of those people that just tells it like it is, and she's not afraid to speak her mind. And whatever is on her mind, she still manages to make it sound hauntingly beautiful.

One for fans of Mabel, Alessia Cara, and Kate Nash, her newest EP, No One Else, Not Even You, dropped back in November, and what's inside it is pretty damn good. Featuring the original version of "Dependent," a song she's just released an impressive acoustic rendition of [2], it's a definite departure from some of her more subtle works. A lesson in defiance and knowing your self-worth, the EP — along with Muller's music in general — makes a lot of pretty strong statements, so we decided to round up the best ones for your listening pleasure.

Read on to see which lyrics made the cut.

Therapist

"You don't need a girlfriend, you just need a therapist / You've got so much trauma, that I'm not qualified to fix."

So Annoying

"Without you, it's boring / Someone should have warned me / Love is so annoying."

Plot Twist

"You seem really nice / That's why I'm gonna try to not ruin your life."

"I don't like it, Jesus take the wheel."

HFBD

"Happy f*ckin' birthday / I hope it is the worst day of the year."

Busy Tone

"Nothing will ever become between me and the bag."

B.B.A

"And you think that I'm so damn rude / But I am just the female you."

Leave It Out

"You say, "Give me a break," take a long vacation."

Side Piece

"I only hit you up when there's rain in the weather."

Flaws

"Get out of my bed, you're wasting my youth."
