Seriously Single

Fulu Mugovhani and Tumi Morake star in this rom-com that's about singledom as much as romance. After a breakup, a woman tries to lean into her best friend's encouragement to embrace the single life and live it up. Unfortunately for her, she just can't seem to stop obsessively checking on what her ex is up to on social media.

Desperados

A messy singleton (Nasim Pedrad) drunkenly sends a rambling email to a man she incorrectly thought had ghosted her, only to find out that he got into an accident and hasn't seen the message yet. Cue a trip to Mexico with her two best friends (Anna Camp and Sarah Burns), desperately trying to get the message deleted before he can see it and figuring out where she really should be looking for love.

The Half of It

One part low-key rom-com, one part coming-of-age dramedy, The Half of It focuses less on the literal romance and more on the heartfelt development of its heroine, Ellie, played by breakout star Leah Lewis. When she agrees to ghostwrite love notes to help a jock (Daniel Diemer) woo a popular girl (Alexxis Lemire), Ellie begins to realise her own feelings and learns a lot about love and growing up along the way.

This German rom-com, starring Lisa Vicari and Dennis Mojen, puts a new twist on the old "fake dating" trope. Isi, a wealthy girl whose parents don't support her dreams of culinary school, and Ossi, a boxer who loses a sponsor after missing training to work a shift, team up to get what they both need. Their fake relationship means they start to get to know each other, and real feelings develop even as they try to keep it all about the money.
