February Playlist: All the Best Music Releases of the Month

16/02/2022 - 05:10 PM

The second month of 2022 is here at last, and it's becoming clear that brighter days are ahead. While we await the inevitable freezing temperatures that the month of February [1] brings and the countdown to summer begins once again, we are continuing to find new ways to get through this bizarre year — with listening to great new music being one of them.

This month, we're continuing to pay close attention to the rising stars of 2022 [2], which includes breakout artist Lola Young, who just released her new single, "So Sorry". Along with Young, British artists like Labrinth have made a comeback this year, thanks to the singer's appearance in HBO's "Euphoria" [3] along with his multiple contributions to the show's soundtrack, one of which features James Blake.

With so many new songs set to be released this month (and this year, undoubtedly), it can be hard to keep track of who's doing what — and whether or not it's worth listening to, more importantly. Well, that's where we come in. Every month, we'll be rounding up the best songs from the UK music scene for your listening pleasure. Whether it's another iconic hit from MNEK [4] or a soulful ballad from Arlo Parks, we've got the songs to see you through this new month.

Just a few days into February, we've had a fun party anthem from Hope Tala on repeat and a brand-new track from collaboration from producer Jax Jones just released, with plenty more music still to come. Read on to discover all the tracks that made it onto our February playlist.

"Growing on Me" by Foxes

Foxes' return to the music industry has been a welcome one, and her new single "Growing on Me" is exactly the kind of track we were hoping to hear from her. Complete with velvety vocals and a newfound edginess, it's a single that definitely deserves a spot in your Feb. playlist.

"No Romeo" by Dylan

Off the back of Dylan's last single, "You're Not Harry Styles", fans have been expecting big things from her. With "No Romeo", it's clear that she delivered because this track has all the sassy lyrics, dreamy visuals, and glittery dance music we were hoping for.

"Pressure"

Bree Runway is an artist that never misses, and her "Pressure" video is proof. The song is lyrically so on point it hurts, and the many impressive outfits give us all some much-needed inspo.

"Don't Forget My Love" by Diplo and Miguel

Let's be honest, anything that has Miguel's voice on it has us sold, and his latest collaboration with Diplo is no exception. It's funky, it's smooth, and it's perfect for pre-drinks.

"Party Sickness" by Hope Tala

"Party Sickness" is the latest offering from rising artist Hope Tala. In an interview [5] with POPSUGAR, Tala explained that "I wanted to write a song about the feeling you get when you're at a party, and you want to be a bit crazy and a bit messy and cause chaos with your friends."

"In-between and Overseas" by Sampha

Sampha's newest track, "In-between and Overseas", was initially included in the artist's "Process" album that was exclusively released in Japan up until now. The single is a heavy, layered ballad with fluid instrumentals and some intense vocals.

"Pull Up" by Koffee

"Pull Up" is the latest single from Jamaican singer Koffee, and it's a slightly more laidback sound than we're used to hearing. Still a pretty upbeat track, it's the kind of song that makes us desperate for spring to come.

"I'm Tired" by Labrinth

Debuting in last week's episode of "Euphoria [6]", Labrinth's new release, "I'm Tired", is a deeply sombre track with some truly gut-wrenching lyrics. Still sounding hauntingly beautiful, Labrinth's voice takes centre stage in the song, leaving little room for any distractions.

"Softly" by Arlo Parks

"Softly" is the latest release from soul-laced songstress Arlo Parks, and it's just as gentle and warming as you'd imagine it to be. Carefully highlighting Parks's delicate but distinctive vocals, the song feels more upbeat than previous releases.

"Where Did You Go" by Jax Jones and MNEK

The latest collaboration between superstar MNEK and producer Jax Jones is nothing short of a feel-good anthem. "Where Did You Go" is exactly the kind of song that will get you turning your living room into a dance floor no matter what time of day it is.
