Billie Eilish Talks No Time to Die, Oscars, and Daniel Craig

Billie Eilish Gushes About "DILF" Daniel Craig’s Eyes: "Whoa"

Billie Eilish is now an Oscar-nominated artist for her song "No Time to Die," the theme song of the James Bond movie of the same name. During an appearance on "Late Night With Seth Meyers" on Wednesday, the 20-year-old talked about writing the song with her brother Finneas when she was 17 years old and meeting "No Time to Die" lead Daniel Craig. "It wasn't like, 'You got the job! Here it is!' We were auditioning, pretty much," she said, noting that various artists are asked to write a song before one gets chosen. Eilish said that seeing a tiny snippet of the opening "was literally what wrote the song."

Eilish eventually met Craig in person, and she still seems stunned. "He's James Bond, he's a DILF!" she said. Meyers jokingly responded, "I've found when I say that, it's weird, but I want you to know that I'm in full agreement with you, but I didn't say it. I just agreed." The singer-songwriter continued to gush about the James Bond actor: "Those eyes? They look crazy. When I met him I was like, 'Whoa!'"

It's been a three-year journey to Eilish's first Oscar nomination. She made her debut at the award show in 2020, which, she told Meyers, was "the coolest, scariest thing" she'd ever done. "I've never been more nervous in my life," Eilish added. This time around, she'll be there as a nominee.

The 94th annual Academy Awards will be televised in the US on Sunday, 27 March. In the meantime, check out the full list of 2022 Oscar nominees.
