The Boys in the Band Movie Cast

Netflix's The Boys in the Band Is Full of Ryan Murphy TV Show Alums

Didn't get a chance to see The Boys in the Band on stage? Now you can watch it from your living room. Ryan Murphy adapted Mart Crowley's 1968 Off-Broadway play of the same name for Netflix, and it features the same cast from the play's 2018 revival. Set in 1968, the movie tells the story of a NYC birthday party gone very wrong, and it's as delightful as it is devastating. The best part: six of the nine cast members happen to be Ryan Murphy show alums, including actors from Ratched, American Horror Story, Hollywood, and The New Normal. Check out the gallery to learn more about the totally stacked cast.

Zachary Quinto as Harold

Zachary Quinto (who you might recognise from American Horror Story: Murder House and American Horror Story: Asylum) stars in The Boys in the Band as Harold, a single gay man reluctantly celebrating his birthday on NYC's Upper East Side, concerned that his older age will make him less appealing to younger men.

Jim Parsons as Michael

The Big Bang Theory and Hollywood's Jim Parsons plays Michael, who's a lapsed Catholic, a recovering alcoholic (sort of), and the host of Harold's birthday bash . . . as well as Harold's frenemy. Expect Michael to serve as the catalyst for much of the party's drama.

Matt Bomer as Donald

Matt Bomer from American Horror Story: Hotel and the Will & Grace reboot appears as Michael's boyfriend, Donald, who recently moved from NYC to the Hamptons to undergo psychoanalysis and leave his NYC lifestyle behind.
