The Viscount Is Torn Between Two Loves in "Bridgerton" Season 2

"Bridgerton" [1] season two is just around the corner, and we couldn't be more excited about the drama and romances ahead. Last season took us on a wild journey with Simon (Regé-Jean Page [2]) and Daphne's (Phoebe Dynevor [3]) relationship, and the upcoming season promises to be just as thrilling, with new leading ladies Kate [4] (Simone Ashley) and Edwina Sharma [5] (Charithra Chandran [6]). The Duke of Hastings won't be returning [7] for this adventure; instead, the spotlight will be on Daphne's brother, Viscount Anthony (Jonathan Bailey [8]), as he looks for a wife.

A teaser trailer for the Netflix series arrived on 14 Feb. with a message from our beloved Lady Whistledown. "What happens when duty is in conflict with the heart's true desire? Why, then, there is the potential for a considerable scandal indeed," she says in the clip. The show's official trailer, which dropped on March 9, puts a spotlight on Kate and Anthony's courtship — and assures us that Lady Whistledown has more gossip than ever to share. Just a week before the new season's premiere, Netflix released another short clip to clue us in on the Viscount's dilemma, as he's torn between two compelling women.

Bridgerton Season 2 Plot

The second season will follow the second book in Julia Quinn's book series, The Viscount Who Loved Me [13]. This time around, it will centre around the eldest Bridgerton [14] son, Anthony, as he sets out to find a wife. Along the way, he finds himself in a love triangle of sorts with a woman named Edwina [15]and her older stepsister, Kate.

Bridgerton Season 2 Cast

As previously announced, Regé-Jean Page will not be returning [16] for season two, but his onscreen wife Phoebe Dynevor [17] will be back alongside a handful of other season one stars including Nicola Coughlan [18], Claudia Jessie, and more. There are also a few new cast members, including Simone Ashley [19] and Charithra Chandran who will be playing the aforementioned Kate and Edwina. We'll also get to meet the late Bridgerton [20] patriarch, played by Rupert Evans.

Bridgerton Season Two Release Date

Bridgerton [21] season two started filming in early May, and we've gotten a handful of glimpses of the new season ever since. On Christmas, which just so happens to be the one-year anniversary of season one, Netflix announced the season two premiere date. Bridgerton is returning to our screens on 25 March, 2022!

Bailey and Ashley filmed a video alongside costars Andoh, Rosheuvel, Jessie, Chandran, and Newton as they read a letter from Lady Whistledown. "Is that Whistledown? What's she got to say today? The cheeky little mistress," Bailey says in the clip, reading aloud, "It's customary for a first anniversary to gift paper, dear readers. I do hope you find this one informative. Bridgerton returns March 25." All the cast members revealed while reading the letter that this was their first time finding out when season two returns! Lady Whistledown really does have all the exclusive content.
