11 Connections to BTS's Old Music Videos in "Yet to Come"

10/06/2022 - 04:45 PM

One thing BTS is never, ever going to pass up on is the opportunity to pack their music videos with tons of Easter eggs and callbacks to previous work that will strike their fans, the ARMY, right in the hearts with nostalgia.

The group's latest music video, "Yet to Come," off their new anthology album "Proof," [1] is no exception. The video features allusions and straight-up re-creations of shots from their other hit music videos like "No More Dream," "Butterfly," "Spring Day," "Blood Sweat & Tears," "Run" (not to be confused with their new song "Run BTS" [2]), and more. There are so many, we can't even be sure we caught them all — ARMYs will be sure to find more and more connections as the stream count for "Yet to Come" rises.

Check out all the connections we spotted below.

BTS "Yet to Come" Music Video Easter Egg: Jungkook's Opening Shot

The shot where Jungkook puts his hand to one of his eyes in the shape of an imaginary telescope calls back to a shot from BTS's "On Stage: Prologue (Butterfly)" video [3] circa 2015.

"Yet to Come" Music Video Easter Egg: BTS Sitting in a Truck Together

The shot of BTS sitting in the back of a truck is also re-created from a moment in their "On Stage: Prologue (Butterfly)" video.

"Yet to Come" Music Video Easter Egg: The You Never Walk Alone Carousel

The "You Never Walk Alone" carousel in back of Jungkook in the "Yet to Come" music video looks familiar to ARMYs because it was first featured in the boys' 2017 music video for "Spring Day." [4]

"Yet to Come" Music Video Easter Egg: Jimin Reaching Out

The shot of Jimin covering his face before reaching out toward someone just beyond the frame (presumably ARMYs) is also taken directly from "Spring Day."

"Yet to Come" Music Video Easter Egg: V's Picture Frame

Similarly, the shot of V creating a picture frame with his fingers is also from "Spring Day."

BTS "Yet to Come" Music Video Easter Egg: BTS Sitting in the Bus

The shot of BTS sitting in the bus mirrors the boys' seating arrangement at the restaurant in their "Spring Day" music video.

BTS "Yet to Come" Music Video Easter Egg: The Angel in the Sand

The shot of Jin looking at a massive angel sculpture in the sand mirrors a similar sculpture that appeared in BTS's "Blood, Sweat, & Tears" video [5] in 2016 (no kiss this time around, though).

BTS "Yet to Come" Music Video Easter Egg: Jin Covering V's Eyes

The shot of Jin covering V's eyes is also taken from "Blood Sweat & Tears."

BTS "Yet to Come" Music Video Easter Egg: 20219

In one shot, RM can be seen standing in front of a cargo cart with the number 20219 on it, a direct reference to a similar shot in BTS's 2015 "Run" music video [6].

BTS "Yet to Come" Music Video Easter Egg: Jungkook Running With His Arms Extended

The various shots of Jungkook walking and running with his arms extended like the wings of an aeroplane call back to similar shots from his "Euphoria" music video from 2018. [7]

BTS "Yet to Come" Music Video Easter Egg: The School Bus

The shot of BTS in front of a school bus is a call back to their first music video for "No More Dream" from 2013, which opened with a shot of a school bus.
