Charlize Theron is known for pulling off some phenomenal movie transformations, but her look in the upcoming biopic Bombshell takes the cake. The Oscar-winning actress portrays former Fox News host Megyn Kelly and her makeup is so on-point that the resemblance is eerily uncanny. But during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Theron admitted that she hasn't received any feedback from the woman herself.
When DeGeneres asked if Kelly reached out to Theron about her depiction, the actress noted that although they haven't been in touch, "Megyn is fully aware of the film." As she explained, her production company, Denver and Delilah Films, used a lot of source material to work on the film, including interviews from women involved in the 2017 ousting of the late chairman and CEO of Fox News Roger Ailes.
"[We] spoke to a lot of women who were part of this story. Some of them were still working at Fox and some of them didn't want their names out there," she added. "So as a team, we decided we really wanted to protect our sources. I'm really hoping [Kelly] will see it. We want everybody who's involved to see it."
Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie also spoke about their transformations in the film, with DeGeneres noting that Kidman and Theron must have spent the most time in hair and makeup since they're depicting real people. (Kidman plays Gretchen Carlson in the film, but apparently John Lithgow's metamorphosis into Roger Ailes took the most time.) Robbie, whose character is fictional, looks virtually the same.
"I had false lashes," Robbie recounted to the laughter of the audience. "They did some contouring. It was exhausting." Watch the full clip above!
