On 11 May, at this year's BRIT Awards [1], Coldplay [2] opened the show by performing for the first time since 2020 — and it was truly epic. The band performed on what can only be described as a floating stage on the River Thames, directly outside the O2 arena. The performance featured a colourful rendition of their latest single, "Higher Power" and was made complete with impressive holograms and bright fireworks, and . . . you know, the floating down the Thames part.

Other performers on the night include the likes of Arlo Parks, BRIT's rising star Griff [3], The Weeknd, Olivia Rodrigo [4], Dua Lipa, Headie One, Olly Alexander and Elton John, plus a special performance by Rag 'n' Bone man and P!NK, featuring the NHS Greenwich choir.
