It's a decades-long, often-heated debate among Friends fans [1]: were Rachel Green and Ross Geller *really* on a break in season three when Ross got with Chloe, aka "the hot girl from the Xerox place"? Twenty-three years after the dispute-sparking episode aired, David Schwimmer weighed in with his two cents while speaking with Jimmy Fallon [2] on The Tonight Show [3] on Monday night.
"People are so passionately divided about whether or not they were on a break," Schwimmer said. When Fallon asked him for his official stance on the matter, the 53-year-old actor responded, "Yeah, it's not even a question. They were on a break," totally emulating Ross's line delivery, no less. Now, this response doesn't clear up whether Ross's one-time fling with Chloe is technically defined as cheating, but alas, we like to think that Ross and Rachel would still be together today [4] regardless. Now, can that darn Friends reunion special just air already [5] so we can get some more answers, please?
