Disney Broadway Stars Singing "Go the Distance" Has Us Reaching For Tissues

Heather Headley, Ciara Renée, Jelani Alladin, L. Steven Taylor, Adrienne Walker, McKenzie Kurtz, Michael James Scott, Ryan McCartan, and James Monroe Iglehart all got together on Zoom to perform "Go the Distance" from Hercules as part of Good Morning America's "Day of Hope" on Wednesday. Working from home, the group did what Broadway performers do best: roll with the punches and make things work to their advantage. Even without the glitz and the glamour that productions like Aladdin, Frozen, and The Lion King are known for, the power and emotion of the song still shone through due to the passion of the Disney stars.

When discussing the importance of the Zoom performance, McCartan said that "at the end of the day this is a song about hope" and "that the people in this country need hope." So, if you're in need of a "hero's welcome," watch the full clip above.
