Mindy (Ashley Park) moves to Paris from Shanghai as a nanny and befriends Emily when Emily needs it most. The two grow close quickly, and Mindy is there for Emily through her struggles with adjusting to being in a new city. Gabriel realises that to follow his dream of opening his own restaurant, he will have to move back home to Normandy, so he and Camille break up. The season one finale ends with Gabriel deciding to stay in Paris and Camille telling him that they should discuss things since he's not leaving after all.

Emily does hook up with Camille's brother, though, when she, Gabriel, and Camille are at her family's estate. Ever the sweetheart, Camille mostly brushes it off. She gets her heart broken, though, when Gabriel says he's going to move to Normandy and the two break up. When he decides to stay in Paris, she tells him she wants to talk. It's clear she wants to get back together and doesn't realise Gabriel and Emily have hooked up.
What Happens to Sylvie in Emily in Paris Season 1?
Emily's frosty Parisian boss, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), doesn't make life easy for her new American employee. She picks on her and does everything she can to get her to quit and go back home. Emily, though, won't be pushed and in fact helps Sylvie with her clients and increasing the firm's popularity and brand awareness. At one point, Sylvia does try to fire Emily, but again, Emily won't be pushed, and she helps the firm recover from a major gaffe (that was Emily's fault to begin with), and Sylvie is finally won over.
