Everything We Know About Kesha's High Road Album

Kesha Channels "Pure and Utter Debaucherous Joy" in Album Trailer For High Road

After some soul searching and the cathartic process of making and releasing her 2017 album, Rainbow, Kesha is going back to her roots.

The 32-year-old singer shared a glimpse of what we can expect from her upcoming album High Road this week with a cinematic trailer, which shows her in various costumes and situations: running from the law, singing in a gospel choir, and having a meltdown in the cereal aisle, among other things. The core theme of her new songs will be an intersection of the "pure and utter debaucherous joy" that made us fall in love with her to begin with during her "Tik Tok" days, as well as the life lessons she's since learned along the way (which she describes as "the road trip from hell").

"When I wrote Rainbow, I was in a very different headspace. I had to address some very serious things," she says, alluding to her former producer Dr. Luke and the allegations of abuse she brought against him in a high-profile lawsuit in 2016. "But now, on my new record, I revisit my roots . . . Kesha got her balls back and they're bigger than ever."

Although the video doesn't contain an exact release date for High Road, the album is expected to arrive at some point in December.
