The Funniest, Weirdest Eurovision Song Contest Performances

There are certain things you can be sure of with the Eurovision Song Contest, and brilliantly bonkers performances are right up there. Whether it's the participant's costumes (like Ukraine's business-appropriate tin woman in 2019), the theme (we're thinking of those vampires, Romania), or the performers themselves (we'll never forget Russia's techno-dancing grannies), the singing competition is always about so much more than just the singing. So we're all about taking a trip back through the most memorable moments in Eurovision history, from the funniest entries to the downright strangest.

There are so many to choose from, but we've whittled it down to a top 11 of wonderfully weird offerings. Some languished near the bottom of the pack when the scores came in, while others were right up at the top. And while 2020 had some equally out-there entries that quite possibly could have ended up this list, with the news that the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak, we'll have to wait another year to get our campy, international music fix. For now, all we can do is immerse ourselves in the whackiest, weirdest, and most outrageous Eurovision performances from years gone by.
